How To Style Brown Leather Pants For Fall
Remember these brown leather pants?
Well, I loved them so much for the summer that I knew I just had to style them for fall, too. Although, if I’m really being honest, I think I maybe actually love them more for fall. I mean, let me tell you something, brown leather pants are just where it’s at in the fall. There are truly so many ways you can style them and so many occasions that they can work for. Plus, I think it’s just a nice, unexpected twist from the black pair of leather pants you usually see.
A few things I love about this specific pair of leather pants. First and foremost, they’re actually faux leather, but surprisingly they don’t look or feel like it. They’re super buttery and soft, and lined, which makes them actually comfortable to wear, not, like, ya know, sticking to you in all sorts of miserable and uncomfortable ways. That being said, they definitely fit more like high waist leather leggings so I highly recommend sizing up one, if not two, sizes.
They also happen to be super versatile. They always look good worn with a classic white tee (or, in my case this summer, a white tank), a denim jacket, an oversized button down or a cozy knit. But there are also a few fall fashion trends that would be perfect to wear with leather pants. There’s the whole leather-on-leather trend, where you wear leather pants with a leather jacket or leather shirt, which is very street style kind of vibe. Then there’s the chic and put together look of pairing the leather pants with an oversized sweater vest, and, of course, you can always go super cozy with a flannel or shacket (or a flannel shacket), which I like to pair with a crop top underneath to keep everything from looking a little too oversized, if you know what I mean.

How To Style Brown Leather Pants For Fall
LEATHER ON LEATHER
I LOVE the whole leather button down trend. It’s so edgy and street-style but also very minimal, streamlined and classic looking. If you’re nervous to dive into this trend, my best suggestion is to stick to a tone-on-tone pallet, so, for example, pair your brown leather pants with a brown leather shirt. Here are a few leather shirts I’m loving-
OVERSIZED SWEATER VEST
Another fun trend to try with leather pants is the oversized vest. It’s cozy yet chic and a great way to make leather pants a bit more casual/daytime appropriate. Personally, I also have an unofficial rule where if one piece of clothing that I’m wearing is tight, I like to balance it out with another piece that isn’t, i.e. tight leather pants on the bottom, oversized sweater vest on the top is a perfect example of this.
PLAID
Nothing says fall quite like plaid. Am I right, or am I right?! Plus it’s perfect for pairing with leather pants for a casual look, whether on it’s own, left open over another shirt such as a crop top or a henley, or for a layered look underneath a cozy jacket.
SHACKET
A cozy fall classic that I just can’t get enough of, especially paired with brown leather pants. Similarly to what I mentioned with the sweater vest, I love a shacket and leather moment as the oversized top balances out the tighter bottom to make for a perfect casual, cozy fall outfit. Plus, a shacket is great for fall layer a la the outfit I’m wearing in the photos in this post.
COWBOY BOOTS
I mean, can you name a more iconic duo than leather pants and cowboy boots?! Probably not. It’s just a classic and, IMO, you really can’t go wrong with the look. If you want to make the look updated and fresh, try a boot in a cowboy silhouette but in a fun and on-trend print or color (i.e. kind of like how I’m wearing the brown croc boots in my outfit).
