Ladies Who Lunch {at Refinery Rooftop}

When summertime descends upon the city, New Yorkers beeline for the nearest rooftop to cool off with a cocktail, indulge in a dinner under the stars (er, should I say city lights?), and now, thanks to Refinery Rooftop's new lunchtime menu, grab a mid afternoon bite. Obviously, mine and Michelle's summer guide would not be complete without a rooftop rendezvous. And where better to head than the rooftop that was recently voted best in the country? After Michelle and I met for coffee (and lots of picture taking, duh!) in nearby Bryant Park, we headed to this midtown gem for sips, snacks and, you guessed it, more snaps (I mean, with that view, can you blame us?!). The weather was perfect, allowing us to truly savor our food and the views, all while basking in the sun. Such an incredible afternoon! If you happen to find yourself over in the area, trust me when I say, you will not regret going up....as long as you order the pressed cauliflower sandwich with avocado on the side (le duh), the avocado toast, the seared yellowfin tuna, and, ok, basically everything on the menu! Hop on over to Michelle's site to get the full scoop on all the yummy food and stunning views in her article appropriately titled "THE BEST City Views for Lounging & Lunching Are At Refinery Rooftop".

For said rooftop lounging and lunching, I broke from my New York black uniform and went more girly, donning my favorite pink pants, while Michelle kept the black and white theme going strong, adding in that amazing hat of hers (seriously, how fab is it?!). Of course, it wouldn't be a proper "ladies who lunch" without a little dressing up, so we accessorized with baubles, bags and fun heels. It's a rare sighting to see me out and about in the city in anything but flats, but these Easy Spirit shoes are a game changer, keeping my feet comfy for most of the day (I didn't even need to change into flats for the subway ride & walk home). Good views, good food, good friends, good shoes....my only complaint, why can't this be my lunch every day??!
