Farmhouse Jacket Outfit
JENNI KAYNE FARMHOUSE JACKET OUTFIT
I realized recently that I’m not that great at jackets. When we lived in NY, winters left me pretty much no choice but to layer up under a puffer or some sort of wool coat. And in LA I tend to reach for a blazer…and only a blazer. Ok fine, sometimes I switch it up with my long black wool coat if it’s really cold, my denim jacket for summer or my leather jacket for going out. And then I have a few jackets specifically for hiking or working out. But that’s it. There’s really nothing fun, exciting or special happening in my coat closet.
Long story long, I was happy to add this new Jenni Kayne jacket into my closet for a much needed mix-up. It’s nice and cozy and decently thick so it provides plenty of warmth, the kind you’d want on a crisp fall day or a blistery spring day (or just a winter day here in California), like a nice cozy cocoon hug. I love that it’s versatile enough that it works with jeans for a day out (like I did here for a recent day trip to Ojai), or I can keep it more casual and wear it over a sweatshirt and leggings for a walk around the neighborhood.
FYI, I’m wearing a small, which is a perfect fit and I can easily layer a sweatshirt or thin sweater underneath. However, if you’re planning to layer thicker sweaters underneath I’d suggest sizing up one size.
