It's no secret how I feel about the Berkshires. Well, at least it shouldn't be if, if you've read this post. No matter where I roam, New England, and the Berkshires, still continues to be one of my favorite spots, especially in the fall.
If you've ever experienced a New England fall then you know what I mean when I say nothing, absolutely nothing, beats it. The trees come alive with color, the air is crisp and brisk and everything smells sweet and spicy. Really, no words that I can say, can ever do a New England fall justice.
This year, the leaves weren't quite as bright as years past, but we still managed to capture a few picturesque moments when we went to visit my Grandmother last weekend. In fact, we spent a decent amount of time driving around trying to find some good leaves, but funny enough, the best leaves were right in my Grandma's backyard. While most of the trees in her yard had all but lost their leaves, save for the bright red Japanese maple, this one tree remained, awash in golden color. The leaves that had dropped below had created a magical path aglow with a buttery hue, and that, combined with the perfectly aligned sunlight, created an illuminated golden globe that I never wanted to step out of.
Thankfully we had more than enough time to snap plenty of photos of the golden leaves and our cozy fall outfits (I've been living in this dreamy sweater!) before a family dinner of roast chicken, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce and apple crisp made with apples from the orchard around the corner. I mean, could our day have gotten any more New England fall than that?!
While these pictures do no more justice to fall in the Berkshires than my words do, I hope that, combined, they paint even a partial picture, and, at the very least, inspire you to experience a New England fall, if you haven't already.
