A PEEK AT WHAT'S COMING UP THIS MONTH
Editor’s Note // Well, rumor has that it’s February. Or at least that’s what the date popping upon my phone screen is telling me. I wouldn’t know otherwise because to me it feels like the same day, every day.
I mentioned this the other day on Instagram, but January was a pretty rough month for me. And according to the poll I took, it was for many of you, too. I tend to get burnt out post-holidays, since that’s my busy season, but I’ve never had such an extreme case before. I’m not sure if it was me coming down from my busy season, the post-holiday sadness, the winter blues, the tumultuous political environment in the US, the pandemic that feels like it will literally never end, the fact that I haven’t traveled or everything combined, but it hit me and hit me hard. And the weight of the pandemic also hit me worst than it has any other month. I felt devoid of any creativity or desire to cook, shoot, put together any outfit, anything really. Some days it was all I could do to make it from the bed to the couch or answer a single email.
Thankfully, the funk I’ve been in seems to be coming to an end. I feel some of my creative juices flowing again and I’m excited for the content I have coming up. Hoping the same for all of you who have been struggling, too. Cheers to a fresh new month ahead!

what I’m cooking // lots of cozy soups (this one sounds delicious) and pasta along with crispy asian-style chicken in our air fryer and some vegan sweet treats, like these
what I’m drinking // the new sparkling strawberry lemon apple cider vinegar drinks from Trader Joe’s (So delicious!)
what candles I’m burning // this rose, blood orange and vanilla one and these super cool sculpture-like ones
what I’m shopping for // I just cleaned out my closet, so I’m looking for some new boots (I have my eye on these) and coats and I’m also on a mission to find pants that aren’t jeans but also aren’t sweatpants but are still comfy while looking put-together.
