Mr. RC's Bar Cart // Maple Orange Sidecar
Hi friends!
Mr. RC’s Bar Cart is back from a brief hiatus {travel and a move to blame} with a seasonal twist on the classic Sidecar. Given the busy time of year, I wanted to keep the recipe as simple as possible in order to take some stress off your plate, or, in this case, the bar, when it comes to holiday entertaining.
With just a simple retooling of some of the ingredients, and using flavors such as maple syrup, orange and ginger, the original recipe is easily transformed into a cozy and festive beverage. This maple orange sidecar is sure to be hit at your next festive gathering, holiday dinner or even just a moment cuddled up by the fire.

yields one cocktail
INGREDIENTS
1.5 oz cognac
1.5 oz orange juice
.75 oz maple syrup
Ginger beer
Rosemary sprigs and orange peel, to garnish
INSTRUCTIONS
In a shaker, add ice, then pour in cognac, orange juice and maple syrup. Cover and shake.
Strain into a martini or coupe glass. Top off with ginger beer and a sprig of rosemary or orange peel.
NOTES
I used Hine Rare VSOP Cognac to make this cocktail. It’s incredibly smooth and easy to sip on, even on its own, but I especially loved how the notes of orange and apple perfectly complimented the overall fall flavors of this sidecar cocktail. However, feel free to use the cognac of your choice.
