HAPPY HOUR NO. 183
A MID-WEEK PICK-ME-UP OF FAVORITE PHOTOS, LINKS AND THINGS
// CLOSET UPDATE
2
These leather pulls are the latest addition to my closet makeover and I’m obsessed with how elevated they make my closet look! I got them from an Etsy shop and couldn’t be more pleased with the quality, price and how quickly they came (especially given that they came from Europe). Definitely recommend them as an easy way to upgrade an Ikea piece (or any other basic furniture, for that matter).
// MORNING READ
4
I’ve read this book a handful of times now (whenever I’m really struggling) and I’ve recently started re-reading it again as part of my morning routine. While many of 2020’s problems feel far from small, the book is still full of great little reminders to help mentally get through everything going on. Highly recommend it if you’re struggling right now, too! The chapters are super small (2-3 pages) so it’s something that you can easily add into your morning or evening routine as it only takes a few minutes to read a chapter.
// WINE FOR A CAUSE
1
A favorite winery of mine, Tank Winery, recently collaborated with Chicago-based artist Dwight White II, on this limited edition bottle, REBORN (and they so kindly sent me one). White’s art was used for the label and the majority of the proceeds from this bottle will be split equally between The Simple Good, an arts residency program for youth in Chicago, and BLM. You can purchase a bottle here.
// SUMMER BITES
3
We’re up to our eyeballs in fresh tomatoes (not complaining about it tbh) and didn’t want any of them to go bad, so I decided to throw them in a skillet with a little olive oil, placed it on the grill for a few minutes (to allow some of the tomatoes to soften and burst), then topped it with fresh burrata, basil and some truffle salt, and served alongside grilled sourdough bread. I mean, food just doesn’t get more summery than that, does it?!
// NEW SKINCARE
5
Really excited about this newly launched skincare line, Overt, for so many reasons, including their transparency, the fact that their products are free of silicone, paragons, fragrances, SLS and alcohol, their sustainability practices, and the fact that they donate 10% of their annual profits to support victims of human trafficking and slavery. I just started testing out the products and will be sure to let y’all know how I like them!
