HAPPY HOUR NO. 183

A MID-WEEK PICK-ME-UP OF FAVORITE PHOTOS, LINKS AND THINGS

Tank Winery

// CLOSET UPDATE

2

These leather pulls are the latest addition to my closet makeover and Iโ€™m obsessed with how elevated they make my closet look! I got them from an Etsy shop and couldnโ€™t be more pleased with the quality, price and how quickly they came (especially given that they came from Europe). Definitely recommend them as an easy way to upgrade an Ikea piece (or any other basic furniture, for that matter).

tomatoes and burrata

// MORNING READ

4

Iโ€™ve read this book a handful of times now (whenever Iโ€™m really struggling) and Iโ€™ve recently started re-reading it again as part of my morning routine. While many of 2020โ€™s problems feel far from small, the book is still full of great little reminders to help mentally get through everything going on. Highly recommend it if youโ€™re struggling right now, too! The chapters are super small (2-3 pages) so itโ€™s something that you can easily add into your morning or evening routine as it only takes a few minutes to read a chapter.

Overt Skincare

// WINE FOR A CAUSE

1

A favorite winery of mine, Tank Winery, recently collaborated with Chicago-based artist Dwight White II, on this limited edition bottle, REBORN (and they so kindly sent me one). Whiteโ€™s art was used for the label and the majority of the proceeds from this bottle will be split equally between The Simple Good, an arts residency program for youth in Chicago, and BLM. You can purchase a bottle here.

// SUMMER BITES

3

Weโ€™re up to our eyeballs in fresh tomatoes (not complaining about it tbh) and didnโ€™t want any of them to go bad, so I decided to throw them in a skillet with a little olive oil, placed it on the grill for a few minutes (to allow some of the tomatoes to soften and burst), then topped it with fresh burrata, basil and some truffle salt, and served alongside grilled sourdough bread. I mean, food just doesnโ€™t get more summery than that, does it?!

// NEW SKINCARE

5

Really excited about this newly launched skincare line, Overt, for so many reasons, including their transparency, the fact that their products are free of silicone, paragons, fragrances, SLS and alcohol, their sustainability practices, and the fact that they donate 10% of their annual profits to support victims of human trafficking and slavery. I just started testing out the products and will be sure to let yโ€™all know how I like them!

// A new-to-me sustainable line that I just ordered some pieces from

// A chic-looking diy Iโ€™m contemplating for our bar area

// Really excited about this BEAUTIFUL piece I just ordered from an AUSTRALIAn brand that produces in small, ethical and waste-free batches. The materials used and amazing price points donโ€™t hurt either!

// A delicious vegan stir-fry recipe that Iโ€™m dying to try

// A fun interview I got to do for a travel app that I am OBSESSED with and that I am so thrilled to be a venice ambassador for

// I recently discovered that One of my favorite organizations to support, the DWC, has an on-line shop with products made by women at the shelter who are enrolled in their hands-on job-training program. They have lots of items that would make great gifts, like soaps and candles. I also especially love how their candle names are twists on well-known california locations (so clever!).
