MUSLIN BLANKET //

I love the look of a muslin throw blanket and happened to stumble upon this perfectly OML-colored one on Amazon. When I saw the price and that it was 100% cotton, I couldn’t resist. While I wouldn’t say the quality is the most top-notch, I’m using it more as a decorative throw on the bed, which, I think for something like that, more decorative purposes, the quality is just right.

GARLIC BOWL //

This little bowl is actually meant to be a berry colander (hence the holes), but I didn’t have any berries at the time so I threw some garlic bulbs in and I instantly knew it was never actually going to be used for berries. My exact one is no longer available but this is a very similar option (it actually comes as a set of two) and this is another stoneware option in a different (but still neutral) color.

NEUTRAL KITCHEN RUG //

Finding neutral rugs that aren’t too boho is a real feat, let me tell you. Needless to say I was so excited to come across this one (pictured below) from the Studio McGee x Target collection and it’s been perfect for our kitchen. It’s a great neutral striped design and it hides dirt so well making it perfect for a high traffic, messy areas like the kitchen. While the exact rug I got is no longer available, this one is a similar option and I’ve linked a few more similar rugs in the shop section below.

ARCHED MIRROR //

I’ve wanted a floor length arched mirror for forever so I finally just hit β€œpurchase” one day and haven’t regretted it since. Such a game changer in our space that instantly elevated the light, the mood, the whole room. Also a great way to add arched elements to a space for those of us who wish we had arched doorways (Me!) but don’t (also me!).

WAFFLED BATH TOWELS //

We just got a few sets of waffled bath towels for our bathroom and I love the way they add some neutral texture to the space. Plus, they’re 100% cotton. Just note-if large fluffy towels are your thing, these definitely won’t fit the bill as they’re on the lighter and thinner side of things.

ARCHED CANE CABINET //

We purchased this for extra storage in our bathroom and wow! did it transform the space! Outside of wishing the wood was maybe just a tad lighter/less yellow, I’m so impressed with this piece. It’s high quality, well-manufactured, sturdy, a great size and has some wonderful design elements. If you’re look for a way to add more storage to a small space, and also want to up the design ante, I can’t recommend this cabinet enough. Most other arched caned cabinets that I’ve seen on the market are triple, if not more, the price.

BLACK TEA KETTLE //

You know those things in your home that desperately need to be replaced but they still kind of get the job done and no one really sees them so you kind of let way too much time go before you replace said item? Yeah, that was us with your tea kettle. We had it since NY (aka a long time) and I’m embarrassed to even admit how terrible ours truly had gotten (melted spout, built up gunk, etc.) from all those years of use. I don’t know what it was but a few weeks ago something in me triggered and I couldn’t take it anymore. We finally ordered a new tea kettle and our kitchen instantly looked 1000 times better. Plus, how aestheticly pleasing is this one?!

BEDROOM BLINDS //

If you’ve ever looked at Roman Shades, you’ll know they’re not cheap. And wanting them made of linen makes the price even more unreasonable. Yet linen roman shades is what I had my mind set on for the bedroom (because of course I only want the most expensive things). In my defense, we have a weird tiny bedroom with terrible window placement and truly unusual window sizes so a) there aren’t a lot of options that fit and b) there are even less options that both fit AND look good in the space. So I knew it was roman shades or nothing. And nothing it was for the better part of a year while I struggled to find a not totally unreasonable option. Even the the places that claimed to make affordable options weren’t really affordable (Sorry, I don’t know about you but I don’t consider $500 affordable!).

Then I stumbled upon this site with completely customizable options and tons of colors. And while they don’t have a 100% linen option, they have some that are close, and close + customizable + affordable is good enough for me (especially given that we’re in a rental). The blinds ended up being great (they’ve held up for several years now), their customer service was incredible and the turn-around time was only a few weeks. Plus, they frequently have sales (they had one when we ordered, so our total cost for both windows was just around $200). Highly recommend!

THE SPECIFICS- For reference, the exact blinds I went with are these in white linen, inside mount, cordless lift, pleated fold, with standard liner.
