Snapshots from a Mammoth Weekend Getaway

A few weekends ago we headed up to Mammoth with some of our nearest and dearest to support and celebrate one of our best friend’s movies being in the Mammoth Film Festival. It was such a fun weekend and Mammoth was so pretty! Dave and I already can’t wait to plan another trip back up to do some more skiing and explore the area more.

I didn’t take a ton of photos, and this is definitely not a travel guide by any means, but I did want to share a bit of a visual diary of sorts along with some quick notes on a few of the spots we went and enjoyed!

A FEW THINGS OF NOTE-

Lakanuki Tiki Bar

  • Drinks at the Lakanuki Tiki Bar is a must! Such a fun vibe and everything was delicious! We loved it so much, we want multiple times (I’m not even kidding!). Also, great for happy hour, food and they do fun events, too!

Shelter Distilling

  • Shelter Distilling has great beverages, happy hour Monday-Thursday and also great food (we loved the burgers!). We also bought some of their vodka and rum to enjoy at the house/take home with us.

Mammoth Brewing Company

  • The Mammoth Brewing Company had the most amazing huckleberry beer! Their menu also sounded so delicious! Definitely want to come back and eat here next time.

Campo

  • Campo had great service, cute vibes and their happy hour menu sounds legit. The truffle pizza was yummy, but, food-wise, wasn’t my favorite place we tried.

Old New York Deli

  • We grabbed a bagel from Old New York Deli before hitting the road back to LA. Being a New Yorker, I have to admit I was a bit skeptical of the reviews and claims that this place had good bagels. But I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. I mean, they even asked if we wanted the bagel scooped (IYKNY), so I’d say it was pretty legit! Ha! And they don’t skimp on cream cheese either, which I very much appreciate! Coffee was pretty solid, too. My only recommendation is to place your order ahead of time for pick-up.

Lincoln Bar

  • It was also fun to grab drinks at Lincoln Bar (which you can easily get to either by driving up to Canyon Lodge or taking the free gondola ride up from the Village). If it’s nice out, definitely recommend taking the drinks to enjoy on the roof deck. It’s definitely a party scene on the weekends (thanks to their Weekend Après Party), but they do have drink specials both then and on the weekdays. You’re definitely paying for the scene/vibes/atmosphere as the drinks are nothing special, but it is fun, even if just to observe for a few minutes!

Convict Lake

  • Stop by Convict Lake either on your way in or out of Mammoth. So pretty and serene and reminded me of some of the spots we’ve been in Canada. Plenty of people were skating and out on the ice, but there are also some trails/paths around the lake. Definitely adding the resort on my list of places to check out next time we’re in the area, whether it’s to stay, dine or enjoy some of the activities they offer.

Already looking forward to planning another trip back, exploring more and eventually building out a full travel guide!
