Happy Hour

Sometimes it's hard to find the words to match the pictures. While a picture might show happiness, behind the scenes could be a different story. It's a common scenario these days, in a world full of perfectly snapped Instagrams and expertly curated Pinterest boards.  The tropical vacation picture that has everyone itching to travel, but doesn't show the huge fight taking place between spouses right before the photo was posted, the picture of a beautifully arranged feast while what you're really eating is cold leftovers straight from the container (while probably also working at your desk), the picture from an exclusive event that has your online friends ohhhing and ahhing, but with which you have no real life friends to share it with, the happy pictures that don't show the anxiety, the sadness, the fear, the messiness, the reality of life. But what happens when the reality is so rough that you don't even have the energy to mask it with a perfect picture? I'm not a big fan of faking it (unless we're referencing "fake it 'til you make it", in which case, fake away) and I know I have a tendency to wear my heart on my sleeve, so despite this being a happy hour post, I'll be completely, totally upfront, 110% honest with you- things behind the scenes haven't felt so happy for me this week. Do you know those times, where little by little, things have started to build up over time and you push them aside or only half way deal with them, and then before you know it an ant hill has turned into Mt. Everest, and that one thing just sends you over the edge and you're just like I can't even deal? Yeah, that's what happened to me this week. Don't worry, it's not life or death issues and I have faith (and a strong support system...Hello Mr.RC!) that things will turn themselves around soon. In fact, I have something incredible happening with work next week to look forward to (if you're not following me on Snapchat yet, trust me when I say that you will want to be as you will not want to miss the fun adventure I'm going on!), and, despite having trouble finding positive words to say today, I still had these happy moments from this past week to reflect on, because no matter what, there are always happy moments to be found as long as you're willing to look.

Thanks, as always, for all of you who read daily and lend your constant support, even when I wear my heart on my sleeve, go off on random rants, probably make no sense, and share the not-always-so-happy side of life! I hope that no matter what kind of week you're having, you're willing to look for your own happy moments!
