And just like that, Christmas has come and gone and the New Year is almost here. I know, everyone and their mom is saying it, but seriously. How does time go so quickly?!

Every year, I try to convince myself we should do something fun and exciting for NYE. Whether it's going away on a trip, throwing a big party or having a fancy dinner out, I totally fall victim to society's pressure of ringing in the New Year in a big way. But the truth of the matter is, despite the fancy NYE dinners or ridiculously fun parties I've partaken in in the past, my favorite NYE's have always been the quiet ones at home, with a good meal, a good bottle of bubbly and good company.

While I may not like to go out to ring the new year in, I still like to get a little dressed up. This year, I'll be slipping (pun obviously intended) into this little slip dress. While I'll probably end up  trading the jacket for a cardigan (I'm a creature of comfort, what can I say?) and leaving the OTK boots in the closet, I know exactly what I'm grabbing (along with my favorite shimmery little vintage bag) if the mood changes and we end up fancying a 2017 cocktail at our favorite local spot.
