MONTH AHEAD // JUNE ’23

A SMALL TASTE OF WHAT'S COMING UP THIS MONTH


EDITOR’S NOTE //

Ok, I know June is practically half over and I’m just getting this month’s “Month Ahead” up. But better late than never, right?!

After a few weeks of travel, I could not be happier to get back into my routines. I absolutely love traveling, but I think I’m maybe starting to love my routines more (or maybe that’s just me getting old?!). And while I always set out with the best of intentions to keep said routines while I’m on the go (I bring my books, my journal, my essential oils, etc.), they never fail to go completely out the window (along with my budget, but that’s a different topic for a different day). But routines can get boring, and life is for living, so I’m doing my best to go with the flow and embrace the spontaneity and adventure of being away and the routine of home, while also forever in search of ways to add more routine to my travel and spontaneity to home life.

In other news, we had a “warm” welcome back to Seattle-South (aka Los Angeles), where the sun and summer appear to still be on strike and our house so kindly greeted us with water damage, black mold, potential construction required to fix the mold-infested area, and more property intruders. On second thought, maybe I don’t want to be home adulting and routine-ing. Brb about to go look up flights for where we can getaway to next…

WHAT I’M COOKING //

Since we’ve been traveling, I’m ready to cook just about anything at home, but particularly anything involving fresh fruits and vegetables (because if I don’t put something green in my body soon it just might combust from too many french fries and too much cheese). A few meals on the agenda- Dave’s homemade falafal (He makes the best!), hummus and Greek salads, stuffed peppers, niçoise salad, tofu and veggie spring rolls and salmon with veggie and crispy lemon tarragon potatoes.

WHAT I’M WEARING //

Ok, I have to be honest. I feel like I’m in a real style rut. I don’t know if it’s the travel or the lack of sun and summer or the fact that everything just looks…the same??! But, outside of a crochet piece or two, I’m not feeling any of it, so for the immediate you can find me in my go-to never-fails-me crop top, oversized blazer and Levi’s combo, or some variation of a top and these white pants that I can’t get enough of.

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO //

This Chill Beach Vibes playlist is definitely a vibe and I’m here for it!

WHAT I’M WATCHING //

We just started Platonic (and not just because Seth Rogen is in it and Dave gets confused for Seth all the time haha) and we’re really enjoying it.

WHAT I'M WORKING ON //

Getting back into routines- morning journal, prayer, meditation and movement, picking up produce from the farmer’s market, daily supplements and juicing, nutrition-packed meals, proper evening wind downs, a few hours screen-free per day, time spent on hobbies like reading and drawing, etc.

WHERE I’M HEADED //

Hopefully no where haha I’d like to stay home for just a bit! Then again, we reign supreme when it comes to last minute trips, so who knows. I wouldn’t mind some wine country time, or finding sun/summer and someone (ahem Dave) also has a birthday coming up, so we shall see where we end up…
