MONTH AHEAD // APRIL ’23

A SMALL TASTE OF WHAT'S COMING UP THIS MONTH

EDITOR’S NOTE //

Ok, did that last week of March fly by for everyone else, or was it just me?! Between work, personal and fun things, I feel like I blinked and now it’s April. And about to be Easter! So, if anyone has figured out how to slow down time and you could let me know, that would be great. Please and thank you.

On a different note, I know the saying is “April showers bring May flowers” but I have to say, the rain seems to be mostly in the rearview mirror here in Southern California and let me tell you, the blooms, well, they are blooming. We went out to one of the super bloom areas last week, and even though it wasn’t even in full bloom yet, it was still absolutely breathtaking. I’ll share more from it on the site soon, but, in the meantime, enjoy the snippet in the photos below and, if you’re California-based, a trek to see the Super Bloom is something I can’t recommend enough. It’s truly magical.

Here’s hoping for more magical, spring-filled moments like that for all of us during the month ahead! xx

HAPPENINGS //

WHAT I’M PINNING //

Spring florals, magical light, airy layers and vibrant greens on my APRIL INSPO BOARD

WHAT I’M COOKING //

Crisp spring green salads, asparagus and artichokes with lemon butter, bright berries (the strawberries are oh so sweet right now!), zesty lemony things (our tree is bursting right now), and spring peas

WHAT I’M WEARING //

Moving into lighter layers and linen, I’m loving these pants that I just picked up and this lace top feels so sweet for spring without being too dainty (I also appreciate that the material is a bit heavier making it more versatile for a variety of outfits and situations)

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO //

The Chill Beach Vibes playlist is giving everything the name implies and more and it’s somehow simultaneously perfect whether I need to get stuff done, zen out or chill in the sun. It’s just one of those playlist that goes on repeat, and basically never comes off! Ha!

WHAT I’M READING //

I started reading One Italian Summer expecting something light and fluffy and set in the Italian sunshine. And while it is certainly an easy read, it’s anything but Under the Tuscan Sun. Of course, the parts about Italy are great, and I know so many love this book, but for me, I find the plot line to be a bit strange (like the obsession with her dead mom is so odd to me), and the main character a bit, basic LA vanilla, shall we say? Definitely feels like it’s more family dysfunction and spoiled only child then Italian vacay in the sun. I know, brutally honest, I’m sorry, but I’d hate for you to be duped into thinking you’re going to be swept off your feet into la dolce vita land the way I was. Haha!

WHAT I’M WATCHING //

So excited that Ted Lasso has been back on, although, I hate to say it, but this season, at least so far, feels a bit dull, if I’m being totally honest (Please tell me I’m not the only one feeling this way about it!). We also started watching Wellmania, which has been pretty funny (then again, it’s Celeste Barber so I would expect nothing less than lots of laughs)!

WHAT I'M WORKING ON //

My biggest focus at the moment, outside of getting new recipes up on the site, is some design and branding elements for a few upcoming things I’m launching, including getting my newsletter up and running again (Are you subscribed yet?!) as well as a freebie to go along with that (Be sure to get on the list so you don’t miss out when it launches!).

And, of course, a good home and closet clean out. Because is it even spring if you don’t do a spring clean?!

WHERE I’M HEADED //

Planning a spring getaway around the Santa Ynez area for wine, wildflowers and good food and so that I can check off a few more places on my never-ending Santa Ynez area to-do list
