A Guide to Shopping for Holiday Gifts
One of my favorite times to head north of the city is in autumn. The foliage is lit up in a spectacular array of colors, the air is crisp and cool and there are plenty of places to stop for a warm apple cider donut paired with a cold cup of cider. And who am I kidding? Of course, I also love to hit up the Simon Premium Outlets. I mean, have you seen the stores there?! Celine, YSL, Chloe, Kate Spade New York, Tory Burch, Burberry, Jimmy Choo, J.Crew? What girl isn’t going to want to stop there?! Of course, I’ve found that it’s easier to “sell” a shopping trip to the hubs as a “let’s-go-look-at-foliage…oh-weird-we-just-so-happen-to-be-passing-the-outlets” trip…ya know, whatever gets the job done. A few weeks ago we took just such a trip to the Woodbury Common Premium Outlets. Although Mr. RC would never admit it, I think he secretly was happy we stopped as it allowed us to get a head start on our holiday shopping (and let’s be real, what guy doesn’t want to go into a Nike outlet store?!) We scoped out all kinds of great deals on fabulous gifts for everyone in our lives. Of course, gifts are more fun when you’re giving them, so I thought I’d give you all the gift of the deals we scoped out so you too can get a head start on your holiday shopping.
Sleepwear || Getting pajamas under the Christmas tree has been a family tradition for as long as I can remember, so of course I couldn’t help but check out the pajama selection at the outlets. These that I picked up at J.Crew are both soft and comfortable, and of course I couldn’t resist picking up a few of my favorite socks while I was in the store (don’t socks just make the greatest stocking stuffers?!). Another great sleepwear gift (and stocking stuffer idea)? A luxe sleep mask. This lavender filled silk one I picked up at Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH would be perfect for any ladies in your life.
Basics || The outlets are the perfect place to stock up on premium basics at not so premium prices. These Rag & Bone jeans that I grabbed would make a perfect gift that will last for more than just the holiday season.
Luxe Gifts || The holidays are the perfect time to spoil loved ones with luxe gifts, be it a fancy pair of shoes (like these Christian Dior ones I scored at Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH) or a beautiful handbag (like this one that I snagged at Kate Spade New York).
Hostess Gifts || Of course, the holidays bring with them a host of gatherings and parties. I like to stock up on small things that I can grab as I’m running out the door to gift to the hostess with the mostest. Candles, like this incredibly scented soy one I found at Saks OFF Fifth, are always a great option. Lindt Truffles are another favorite item, because, let’s be honest, who doesn’t like chocolate?
Now, I’d love to know, have you started your holiday gift shopping?
