Casual Date Night Outfit for Valentine's Day at Home

Mastering the casual date night outfit for Valentine’s Day at home

is really as simple as taking a few favorite staple pieces, adding a pop of red, layering on some jewelry and throwing on a pair of heels.

While I know it’s rare to see me in anything outside of neutrals these days, I do love to wear red (it’s actually one of my favorite colors to wear as I love the way it accents my hair and skin) and there’s really no better time spice up an outfit with the color than on Valentine’s Day.

This year I’m adding red to my Valentine’s Date night outfit with a Brochu Walker sweater. Their sweaters are a staple in my closet, so it only makes sense to reach for one. Plus, I love the idea of a sweater for a date night-in since they can be chic but still comfy and cozy, since, ya know, that’s exactly what you want to be when you’re at home. Luxe details, like an off-the-shoulder look, a bit of lace, or super soft cashmere, like the one I’m wearing, ensure that the sweater is still special enough for a date night.

I finished my look with some gold jewelry (because red + gold is always a good idea) + a pair of favorite vintage heels that are easy to slip on and off (another key detail for comfort and ease in an at-home date night outfit). Bonus accessories that are nice but not necessary- wine, flowers and a cute and cuddly friend that likes the flowers almost (if not more) than I do!
