Blenheim NYC

Three day weekends are always nice, but man, do the four day work weeks that follow them seem to drag (or is that just me?). Needless to say, I am one happy lady to see that Friday has finally rolled around and with it, the next stop on our NYC summer guide. For this dinner, we're dressing up and heading down to the West Village to visit Blenheim. Tucked away on a quaint corner, this unique restaurant has so much to offer. The well-designed space with both modern, clean lines and rustic touches (Favorite combo ever!) is a mix of new, custom (designed and created by owner Morten Sohlberg), and repurposed (from their Catskills farm) pieces. While the upstate farm (by the same name) is the main source of food for everything made at Blenheim, this is not your average farm-to-table restaurant. Think of it more as a "grown to order" experience. I could go on forever about how this impacted the insanely delicious food we ate (it was so fresh, so flavorful, so vibrant), as well as how knowledgable and friendly the staff were, or how detail-oriented and hands-on both Morten and his wife, Min Ye, are with every aspect of the restaurant and the farm, but Michelle has so perfectly captured our entire experience in her interview, that I'll let her do all the talking. And after a 3.5 dinner with two people as lovely as Morten and Min, Michelle's article, "Blenheim, A Story Retold", is not something you want to miss.

Of course, no dining experience is complete without the proper attire. In true downtown New York form, Michelle and I both opted for trendy, yet simple, black ensembles. Updos and red lips (which we unintentionally ended up twinning on) kept us looking cool and chic even in the heat and quickly transformed our Two Hands daytime style into nighttime appropriate looks. With Blenheim's clean environment, and plates bursting with brilliant colors, I know we both made the right choice by wearing black, allowing the outstanding food and experience to truly be the stars of the evening.
