6 Bodysuits to Add to Your WFH Wardrobe

Bodysuits To Add To Your WFH Wardrobe

So, you’re working from home…

and, understandably, you kind of just want to stay in your sweats all day (because elastic waistbands). But take it from me, as much as you may want to, resist the urge and DON’T DO IT!

Ok, I realized that that may have sounded a little harsher than I meant it to, and I’d be lying if I said I never spent a day working in my sweats (Ok, fine, I admit it. I may or may not be in sweats as I’m writing this post. The irony is not lost on me. Ha!). But, the truth of the matter is, whether you work for a big corporation or a small business, no matter how cute your sweatshirt and sweat pants set is or if it’s made from matching tie dye print or how it feels good to wear it because it’s so cozy and super soft, staying in sweatpants every single day makes it so hard to be productive and get work done, and it’s a habit that can very quickly become a bad one.

Now don’t get it twisted. When I say ditch the sweats, I don’t mean to also ditch the comfort. Because comfort I’m all about. Comfort is key for working from home. In fact, my ideal work from home outfits are the ones that make me look put together with comfort and ease.

Which is where bodysuits come in. A whole drawer of them, if we’re being exact. Because tbh, if it was up to me I’d probably be wearing one every day if I could. I mean, they’re cute, chic, versatile, comfortable, effortless and can be worn with such ease. What’s not to love? Pair it with jeans and boom! Easy, comfortable, put-together look in an instant. Kick it up a notch by throwing a blazer on top. Swap the jeans for a pair of dress pants and now we’re really in business. Sure, the blazers and dress pants are more for when I need to run out to a meeting or event {you know, when that was still a thing}, or for virtual meetings {Business on top via a blazer, anyone?!}, but really the key here is the base, which is a good, versatile, high quality bodysuit.

Now, of course, there are endless kinds of bodysuits out there these days, between different styles, materials they’re made from and brands, but for the sake of today’s post, I want to focus more on diving into the details of each of the 6 bodysuits I think you should have in your closet for the ultimate work-from-home outfit base. Let’s get into it shall, we?

A Sculpting Bodysuit //

Great for looking polished and put-together and perfect for layering under sweaters and blazers; also pairs well with wide leg pants (I always like pairing a tight top with a looser, wider bottom for contrast and to keep the top from looking too clubby, if you know what I mean); SKIMS is especially great when it comes to bodysuits that are sculpting, flattering and comfortable.

A CASUAL Bodysuit //

Think something a little looser and lighter, which is perfect for the days when you’re going for a more casual, relaxed look; I like to pair this one with jeans, or casual trousers; Everlane always has a great selection of bodysuits that are relaxed, comfortable and super casual

A Sleeveless Bodysuit that can go from day to night //

It’s nice to have a sleeveless option, especially for warmer months, and a tank top or cami-style style bodysuit is always great for keeping things cool and casual, or, when you need to look more professional, it’s perfect for layering under a blazer. I also love this option, which is a sleeveless turtleneck, as it looks super chic and perfect under a blazer and/or with dress pants. I also think this is a great option to take you from day-to-night since it can easily transition from something casual, liking being paired with jeans and slides or sneakers, to something dressy, like a skirt or slacks and a pair of heels or boots. Definitely worth having at least one sleeveless bodysuit in your closet because the options with it are truly endless!

A Short-Sleeve Crew Neck Bodysuit //

Like a t-shirt, but better, because, ya know, it’s a bodysuit, so it’s like tucked in and professional and all the things. For me, I like to find crew necks that are made from cotton, for something more casual, or look for something silky to have a more dressy and polished option.

A LONG SLEEVE Bodysuit //

A chic and timeless option; I like my long sleeve bodysuits to be a bit more form fitting as I think they look great all on their own or paired with pants or trousers, or again, they’re perfect for layering; a simple long sleeve top is also easy to dress up with a few simple accessories, or looks chic kept plane and worn as-is. A v-neck option is very flattering, a henley version offers a nice detail with the buttons, and I also really love a long sleeve turtleneck bodysuit for winter outfits and layering.

A DRESSY Bodysuit //

For when you need to kick it up a notch and look a little more put together, a little dressier, a little fancier aka for your Zoom meetings and co-worker happy hours, a dressy bodysuit is the way to go. There are endless options here but the blouse look is always a classic that you can’t go wrong with! I also like ones that maybe have a fun detail, such a buttons or some lace or maybe are even made with a pretty printed material.
